Q&A

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to open a merchant account?

It typically takes between 1 and 3 weeks. Having a complete KYC package and a compliant website can help speed up the process.

As part of the onboarding process, the acquiring bank or payment service provider will conduct due diligence, including reviewing your website, financial history, and business model.

To proceed, you will need to provide KYC (Know Your Customer) documentation required by the selected provider.

What type of businesses do you work with?

We work with a wide range of businesses, including those that may face challenges getting approved by traditional payment providers.

Our team has experience working with industries such as adult entertainment, nutraceuticals, dropshipping, digital goods, and subscription-based models.

Who are your partners?

Our partners are regulated financial institutions, such as acquiring banks and payment service providers.

Payment services and technical integrations are provided directly by these institutions or through certified third-party providers.

How do I know if my business is considered High Risk?

Visa and Mastercard classify merchants using Merchant Category Codes (MCC), based on the type of goods or services offered.

Some industries are considered “high risk” due to factors such as chargeback rates, regulatory considerations, or product type.

If your business falls into one of these categories, it may be classified as high risk by payment providers.

If you're unsure, we can help you assess your business profile and understand how it may be viewed by potential partners.

Who determines if my business gets approved?

All decisions regarding acceptance, onboarding, and contracting are made solely by the acquiring bank or payment service provider.

eFlow does not participate in or influence approval decisions. Each financial institution applies its own risk and compliance criteria.

Our role is limited to introducing merchants, and we do not guarantee approval or influence outcomes.
